MANAGEMENT
In order to bring
better technologies to the water and wastewater marketplace, in what is generally regarded as a conservative industry, ATLANTIS is backed by Crossbow Ventures, a progressive fund headed by a former president of
Merrill Lynch Venture Capital, Stephen J. Warner. Mr. Warner serves as a Chairman of ATLANTIS. The management team consists of its President and CEO, Roger J. Colley, formerly president of two public
companies known as the technical leaders in the industrial water treatment and environmental fields respectively, and two senior vice presidents with substantial years of sales and business development experience,
John Mangham and Robert Davis. Thomas Burick, Vice President of Manufacturing, has over thirty years experience in equipment and chemical manufacturing, waste treatment plant operation, and field applications
start-ups. Experienced engineers and scientists serve as consultants as operations have now commenced past the technology acquisition phase. In addition, the Company has aligned a number of experienced
engineers and scientists as members of its Technical Marketing Advisory Board. Our recruitment strategy allows the Company to economically bring vast resources to its early marketing capabilities and allows it
to perform as a much larger and mature enterprise. A sales manager has been recently hired to oversee the southeastern United States.
OFFICERS AND KEY STAFF
Roger J. Colley, President and CEO, has extensive experience in the fields of water treatment and
environmental services through his former positions as president of two public companies known as the technical leaders in their respective fields, the former Betz Laboratories, Inc. from 1966 through 1987 and
Envirogen, Inc. from 1988 through 1996. Mr. Colley has a management degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Air Force and for 15 years donated his
services with key committees as a Trustee of the world-renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has assisted a number of start-up ventures with his entrepreneurial skills and experience.
Thomas E. Burick, Vice President / Manufacturing, brings ATLANTIS over thirty years of diversified engineering, manufacturing, and field start-up experience. As a degreed mechanical engineer from the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Burick started his career as a supervising engineer with the American Meter Company and then went on to hold responsible Officer positions with Betz Laboratories, Inc., Standard Thompson Corporation, Organic Recycling, Inc., and Boekel Industries, Inc. Mr. Burick also owned his own precision products machine company and his own manufacturing-consulting firm. More recently, Mr. Burick assisted Envirogen, Inc. in starting up field biofiltration systems and Energy Biosystems, Inc. in managing a new pilot plant to remove sulfur from crude oil.
Robert L. Davis, Senior Vice President/Sales Development, began his career 39 years ago as a general manager for a well-established, family-owned shipping company based in St. Louis, Missouri. He has served as executive vice president, president and founder of several entrepreneurial companies in various sectors of commerce, primarily industrial, over the last 35 years. Mr. Davis attended Old Dominion University, LaSalle Extension University taking courses in Traffic Management, and Norfolk Business College for courses in Accounting. He has successfully completed many continuing education courses produced by the Life Writers Under Council, Export-Import Bank, and the Dale Carnegie management series. His is also a certified instructor for Dale Carnegie.
John W. Mangham, Senior Vice President/Business Development, has extensive background in
investments and financial planning. His career in investment banking began in 1960 with IDS. In 1964 he became VP at FSC, a financial consulting firm in Atlanta. Ten years prior to participating in
the formation of the Company, he was a corporate and private consultant specializing in investment banking and fund raising for new and/or emerging companies and non-profit organizations. From 1986-1993, Mr.
Mangham served as President of Search USA and Managing Director of Markon Corporation, a barter finance operation. He served as President of Essen Corporation, and coordinated product development, testing and
marketing for products related to the post-harvest treatment of fruits, vegetables, meat and poultry. Mr. Mangham served for eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, surface and air.
Ralph G. Schaar, Southeast Regional Sales Manager, adds strong credentials to the technical
marketing capabilities of ATLANTIS through his sixteen years of excellent experience with a number of highly regarded environmental service firms. Such firms include Envirogen, Inc., Malcolm Purnie, Inc.,
Holland Environmental, Inc., and most recently Mr. Schaar was Manager of Rosser Environmental, Inc, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Schaar holds a masters degree in geology/geophysics from Columbia University and has
played a key role in many projects involving site remediation, groundwater, biological systems, process control devices, air emissions, and wastewater discharges.
AFFILIATES AND CONSULTANTS
Jeffrey C. Burnham, Ph.D., Consultant, enjoys a wealth of experience in the field of
microbiology. Widely published, Dr. Burnham was a professor of microbiology at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and today is Professor Emeritus. He holds important patents in the field of wastewater
treatment and for stabilizing sludges. Dr. Burnham serves as a Technical Consultant to N-Viro International Corporation and is President of the J.C. Burnham Company, Naples, Florida.
A. Henry Digges, Sr., Consultant,has been self-employed for over 35 years starting innovative
companies in various unrelated fields. He has been involved in the development of filtration technologies for the past 11 years and currently owns the patent on a unique, dynamic self-cleaning ultra filtration
device. He is developing systems applications for the Dynamic Filter in a number of fields of use.
Patric Friend, Ph.D., Consultant, brings over 30 years of microbiology and envirnmental experience to
Atlantis.
Dr. Friend is the former Director of Environnmental Laboratories at Betz Dearborn, an environmental leader in the industrial process wastewater market. He has a doctoral degree in Microbiology from Northwestern University, and is the co-author of multiple publications.
Ulysses G. Ford, III, Consultant, formed his own consulting firm in 1998 after his unique experience
of working in the public and private sectors of the waste management field for twenty-six years. He recently served as Vice President of Waste Management, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, marketing to the public
sector. His prior experience included service as a public administator for four cities, including Public Works Director of Houson, Texas. Mr. Ford has enjoyed the priveledge of serving as a president of
the Municipal Waste Management Association of the United States Conference of Mayors.
Rishard Gagnon, Affiliate, is the sole proprietor of Gagnon General Contracting.
Mr. Gagnon previously had Eleven years of diversified construction experience with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Mr. Gagnon is licensed in many construction related fields and has prior experience in mechanical and machine operations. Mr. Gagnon represents Atlantis in Canada.
Thom George, Affiliate, has over twenty-five years of product development and marketing
experience with products and services for the fields of agriculture and horticulture. As a U.S. Army combat veteran, Mr. George furthered his education at Broward, Wharton, and the University of Florida.
Within a division of RJR, he directed bio-agriculture marketing and sales before going on to officership positions in marketing horticultural products for BG Enterprise, Plantscape, and Agriplex. In 1996, Mr.
George formed his own company in Orlando, Florida to manufacture and market a proprietary formula of an agricultural bactericide.
Jerry Moore, Ph.D., J.D., Consultant, is a technical consultant for a number of emerging technology
companies in the environmental field. With over 25 years of experience with the United States Department of Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Moore earned considerable recognition for a
variety of projects, including awards for his work in the federal pesticide program. Dr. Moore has also managed a number of private industry projects and is widely recognized for his expertise in new
technology applications for the air, water and waste industries.
Don Ricketts, Affiliate, has over 35 years experience as a Professional Engineer in civil and
environmental engineering. As president of Wastewater Technology, Inc. he is responsible for the administration, design and manufacturing of Stahlermatic® and other types of biological wastewater treatment
plants in the U.S. and foreign markets. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from The Citadel in 1959 and an MBA from Georgia Southern University in 1970. Mr. Ricketts has designed, built and operated an aquaculture
facility in Northern Virginia. He has an extensive background in water and wastewater treatment, particularly in municipal and industrial wastewater.
