Biography of
Wendi Winters

WENDI WINTERS, Vice President of Marketing for QuantumStep, Inc., specializes as a free-lance writer, public relations consultant, and special events and fashion show producer/director. Her client listing includes a national department store; a national mass merchant; fashion, legwear, and intimate apparel manufacturers; fashion designers; fabric mills and textile associations; and public relations agencies, advertising agencies and fashion industry associations.

Wendi Winters was formerly an Account Supervisor at The Rowland Company, then the fifth largest public relations agency in the world, for three and one-half years.  While at Rowland, she handled The Polyester Council of America and Tambrands accounts. Under her management, The Polyester Council account earned several industry awards for excellence in marketing communications, including the prestigious PRSA-NY Golden Apple Award. She also worked on MasterCard's 21st Century Promotion, Argyle Diamonds, Ultrasuede/Spring Industries, Media Arts (infomercials) and DuPont Children's Wear.

Prior to joining Rowland, Ms. Winters was president of her own public relations and advertising firm, Wendi Winters Public Relations, for six years. The firm promoted American and international fashion clients and projects, producing numerous fashion shows and special events. Before that, she was an Account Executive with the Eleanor Lambert division of Creamer Dickson Basford.

She has written for the Special Features section of Associated Press, which is distributed to several hundred papers nationwide, and was the fashion writer for The Manhattan Spirit and Our Town for nearly a decade.  For three years, she was a syndicated writer for Copley News Service, distributed to 190 papers. Articles have also been published in Details Magazine, The Annapolis Capital, Inside Annapolis Magazine, The World and I (a publication of The Washington Times), Valley Press (CA), The Montclair Times (NJ), Theatre Spotlight (DC), The Review (DC) and others.  Ms. Winters' retail experience includes three years with Lady Madonna as regional field director and merchandise manager, plus two years with Abraham & Straus.  During college, she served as an intern at Time Magazine.  For Time and Playboy Enterprises Inc., she also served as regional manager of campuses in five states for their collegiate sales and promotion programs.

Ms. Winters holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree specializing in Fashion Design from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and an Associate Degree in Retailing and Fashion Promotion from the New York Tobe-Coburn School. She sat on the Alumni Board of VCU's School of the Arts from 1986-89 and was a president of The Tobe-Coburn School Alumni Association from 1984-86 and 1996-.

Ms. Winters is a member of The Fashion Group International and was Chairperson of the Publications Committee 1989-90 and Co-Chair 2000 -. She is listed in Who's Who In Finance And Industry and Who's Who Of American Women.
